Activating Wisdom: Lotus Body 3

Tuesdays, April 26-June 7, 10-11:30am (Pacific Time)
Robin Caton · January 24, 2022

This term, we focus on impermanence and the dynamics of ‘becoming’.
Weekly exercises complement the reading as we explore the unity of
matter, space and time. Prerequisite: Lotus Body, part 2 or permission of
the Instructor.

Our six week course includes:

Week One: Space and matter may not be separate states, but stages of transition. If so, what does that mean for our lives?

Week Two: What changes when we change? What stays the same? What juncture of space/time are we occupying now?

Week Three: What is time? How does change occur? We mark individual moments, but how do they connect?

Week Four: If points of time are like beads on a string, what lies between them? Can we explore that space?

Week Five: ‘Past, present, and future’ may not capture the full dimensionality of time. A more accurate model may be the infinitesimal instant, in which all angles of time merge.

Week Six: If the shape of time and space are both the infinitesimal instant, our apparent separateness from everything else may be an illusion.

Week Seven: Revision Class
